Senior Porsche was born in Austria in 1875 and his father was an ironworker. Ferdinand liked doing Iron works since he was very young and was also interested in electricians. During that period, Senior Porsche suggested to manufacture one kind of production-oriented car, but was denied by board of directors at that time. With the help of several investors, on March 6, 1931. Senior Porsche found a consulting firm in Stuttgart in German to specially develop engines for cars, airplanes and ships. Ferrly Porsche, (short for Junior Porsche later) also joined the design group.
Later on, the father and son started to work on the development plan of people's car. Four years later, the prototype vehicle was born, which was the Beetle of Volkswagen. So far it has been produced for continous 50 years and become the world's largest output of cars. In 1930s, Senior Porsche designed three high-performance racingcars for Auto Union that is the predecessor of Audi, and these cars have also been regarded as the predecessor of the Porsche sports car.
